Its tempting, after reading all these quirky/humourous/intresting little tales about how people came up with their names to make one up, so that mine to can make for an intresting read. However, I won't do that, instead I'll just give you the real reason, because the truth is always so much better (though not always quite as colorful).

I always thought the word atrophy was cool, but I never knew what it meant, I think I saw it in a game once (this was years ago). So anyway, one day I looked it up and found that it means (according to dictionary.com) A wasting or decrease in size of a body organ, tissue, or part owing to disease, injury, or lack of use. And then I saw the word Atrophying, which means  To cause to wither or deteriorate; affect with atrophy. And that's that, ever since then I have liked the word atrophying, and when I came across this forum I thought (With the vampire themes and all) that it would make a good name.

Boring huh? =]

When I was researching the Thirty Years War for my character bio, there was a man with the last name Belthen involved in the political workings of the war. I chose Celena because I like the character Selene from Underworld but wanted to be a little original. And Grace because I thought it sounded pretty...and I made it her mother's name in the bio.

Lamae -  (pron. La-my-ya) Lamae was one of those names which float around in your mind which you add to then take away stuff then you end up with this perfect little word which you can't get out of your head. I read about a snake creature which is a form of a woman with a snake's body which steals and eats children (Lamia). I really hope they don't have any connections because despite the whole 'I'm evil, let me live it', I always pictured Lamae to be sweet and misunderstood. My real evil character with the 'mess with me and I'll slice you up and hear you scream' attitude is Evaylae (sounds sweet *pron. Ev-va-lay* but has a really bad attitude)...

hmm..where did I come up with Lillian?
Well..everyonce in a while I like to jump into those yahoo chat rooms to rp. Cuz I'm weird like that. but anyway. I kept on seeing people coming up with slave characters and such, and I thought. That would be pretty interesting wouldn't it?
So I never thought really much about it except for that. Until one day I came across the picture I have  on my display right now.
That Louis Royo painting Is Lillian's ORiginal picture. Beautiful huh?
Well anywho..I found that picture and thought. "Wow that would make an awesome character. This girl has so much pain and fear in her eyes. Its amazing. She must have one hell of a story." So I decided. That's it. I'll give her a story. Make her a character. So there I was sitting there thinking of a good name when watching some type of movie and talking to some people on Instant messenger..when it hit me.
She'll be shy, quiet, and afraid. But all together just Lovely. That's IT!
WHen suddenly it hit me like a ton of bricks. Lillian the lovely lil slave girl. PERFECT...there it is. the story of where Lillian came from.

I've actually had this character made for over a year or so before joining up with Andromorphia. I just never actually got a chance to use her before now. Lillian is one of my most complicated and well thought out characters. Her, Magenta, and MaryAnna are all 3 my top favorites. Most othere characters I come up with just kinda...eh..not so much.
BUt yeah..there's the story of Lillian.

I think that my Login Name: A Man With Many Names is based off of two things.

The first is the fact that I use so many characters when I role play, because of this its kinda useless for me to have one specific name.

Secondly, its based off of the name of one of my oldest characters. The Twin. Heh, to find out more about him I guess you would have to meet him in a Role Play. Although your character might not enjoy the experience entirely.

He is one, he is many. He will steal your face, he will take your body. Some know him as Evil, some know him as Good. Others simply refer to him as The Man With Many Names. But I prefer to call him the Twin.

Silver Plague is based off of two this, Plague is the name of a wolf demon I developped some time ago. He is parsitic and his blood is silver. Hence to name Silver. Plague goes for the effect of his blood and the demons parasitic nature. Coincedentaly Plague's host is named Silver.

Simply put, Dusk began when i got bored with Doc

Doc was my first character, and for a long time (well, 3 months) I used no other name, this was all right for the site I was on, but then I began trying out other sites, and needed new names.  Also at this time I reevaluated Doc and so Dauhawk was born.  (Doc is an Acronym, or became one, for Dauhawk Oveloung Carinosta...)  Dauhawk served me well for another several months, but then an Andromorphian (Myst! Stand up and take a bow!) started a new site that I joined.  For a while on there i kept with Doc and Dau, but then I saw the movie Reign of Fire.  Denton Van Zan says, and I quote..."You see they have great vision during the day, and even better vision at night. But in the failing light, they can't focus. Magic hour. "

That failing light is Dusk.  Dusk is the subtle weakness that brings down dragons.

While that is kinda deep, the other explanation is that I liked the name and the original character I invented for Dusk (a vampire who literally rips apart towns in pretty much every post)  It was a fun thing to do when I was tired of not godmoding...*shrugs*

Some other characters I have used mainly use the same names.  There are several Dauhawks, only one more Doc and a great vampiric character named Malachai.

I could go into those too, but I have to leave.

Well, My name came forth from one of my many stories. This one I have yet to finish.

I started this story when I finshed the book Dead in Dixie. (a must read) My story is based upon a teenage girl named Julietta in the 1800's who wishes no more then to be one of The Feared. The Feared referres to Vampires in that time.  When she FINALLY gets the curse by a LONG dead vampire named Christoff she realizes she doesn't want all that came with it. But, of course, she cannot turn back. He chose her because she was the one who wanted it the most, more than all the others he met before her. So, the story basically fallows her a year after she was changed. Then she goes into hybernating to keep the hunger down and try to make it go away. Of course, that never works. So she awakens 200 years later in present day. She tries to hide it, but she can't. When all else fails, she embraces it. She then starts her own Vamp community. The master Christoff finds her once more.

Well..... it just goes on.... it's more interesting if you heard the whole thing... but of course I'm not finished.
The second part of my name is sorta funny. See, I resentally got highlights just in the front. Like two just in the front... ya know. So, I've been dubbed the Nickname Rougue. You know.... off of the X-men, Rounge.... With the white strickes in the front. So, the name Julietta Rougue sounded perfect for a broken hearted vampire.... like me.

I have always LOVED the name Jameson. I worked with a woman who had a daughter named Jameson. I want to have a daughter and name her James or Jameson.

Hello and thank you for allowing me into this wonderful world.  I thought that I wandered into this realm by chance, but I realize that everything happens with its own purpose.  So here I sit, amazed and filled with much anticipation.  Taesa is taken from the letters of my  paternal grandmother's name and arranged to match my birth number.  Analise is a bastardized form of analyze; of which I am told I do too much of in some cases and not enough in others.  I look forward to allowing my creative juices to flow freely

My Name Was Looked-up Only for the definition of hunter I then got quite alot of cool names, and obviously came out with Auryon, it is supposed to be a feminine version of Orion, and besides, I think hunter is a good title for me, mentally, physically, i would be your average tomboy, but mentaly, you could'nt notice part of me being wolf-like. I consider the pack rules for wolves, and I like them, so I am a body guard to my friends, whom are hard to get, so they became precious to me, like a pack member would be to a wolf, so I figured hunter was the best... besides, I like fighting others in consideration of friendships, and I am quite skittish when it comes to bulky guys that wish to go out with my friends, some are evil, some just want to 'claim and trash', and be done with them, so I have to be 'Ms. TooGoodyTwoShoes'.
My last name, Syaoran, is indeed, chinese, but I admiringly like it, I found this one in babynames as well, looking up wolf, but it was for good reasons, since my friends did indeed call me Wolf, both real world and internet world. I found out it meant 'Little Wolf', and i guess that fit me too, since I am 5"1. I also liked it since it was, eh, I dunno, 'old'.
