Any takers? « on: 10/02/2007 23:30:24 »

M'yeeeeah, I've had Adèle stored away for several years now so any past storylines I had planned with her have kind of...turned to dust. She's one of my older characters, a brain child from when I first watched Bram Stoker's Dracula...in hoo boy, 1998-1999. Back when I was experimenting with creative writing. Haha, that's quite drôle now that I think of it. Hohoho.

ALL THIS TO SAY: I have no ideas for her, aside from her influences, history, and general personality. I'm looking for something that'll spark and keep my interest, possibly another character with a nifty past as her's is nothing special; just a spoil little tart. :o Garou, Vampire, anything could work, just fill me in and we can work out the details as we go. Here's a little tid bit for you judge whether or not you'd be interested in cooking something up with me and Adèle:

She was lying amid the silky linens of her four poster bed, milky white legs bent at the knees, one slender arm stretched out while the other was draped delicately over her chest. Sound asleep was the sandy haired waif, pale pink lips moist with her breath, hidden away from daylight's harmful rays.  Tucked away in the luxurious boudoir an admirer had commissioned for her, complete with heavily but stylishly boarded windows and the warm light of hundreds of candles. An airy sigh suggested Adèle was rousing from her slumber, lithe body rolling slowly to the side, further entwining itself in the sleek bedding.  There, beside her lay the lifeless body of last nights’ lover, their torrid affair having ended in his death and the young woman’s satisfaction. Thick lashes blinked open, giving way to hazel eyes, resting on the cold, naked corpse. The corners of her pale mouth turned up in a crooked grin, memories of the prior night starting to resurface.

Mnn.. He was pleasant to look at, even in death. Long white fingers reached out to touch his lacquered hair, flecked with silver strands. Just then, a rap at the door to her bedroom startled her, a familiar voice calling in to her.

“Oui, Madame, entrez! I was just waking up...”  Exhaling heavily, Adèle sat up and slid off the bed, a silk sheet pulled down with her, wrapped about her body like a tunic. The male's body lay completely exposed, flat on his back, eyes staring up into the vaulted ceiling of the dark den. Floaty steps led her toward her armoir, filled with luxurious clothing of all colours and materials. It was time to start the day...or night, rather.

I read your brief biography of Adèle. I enjoyed that, but felt it could use a bit more embellishment. I like how you write. I think you have a great deal of talent and that you are brimming with stories to tell. I have several characters (I never RP as Valis) and would not mind joining you in an RP.

Honestly, I don’t think Bram Stoker’s view of vampires is drôle or passé at all. Yes, there are new wave versions of Vampires and World of Darkness takes on them, yet I think there is a simpler take on Vampires. Well, as simple as their seductive games allow.

I’ll bite. (Pun intended.) Where is the story thread?

I wasn't feeling it when I posted her profile...I updated it this afternoon with a breif "history" of sorts, explaining how she came to be one of the forsaken. I'm glad you enjoy my writing style. I try to avoid being long winded, I have a tendency to ramble on and on but when I try to stop I cut myself short. Things I need to work on, of course!

I've always enjoyed the simple lure of Vampires but World of Darkness does has a interesting take on an old creature, especially with the clans. I still keep Adèle in the old/classic style though, I think there's more to learn and explore that way.

I actually have not started a thread yet. I was hoping to find some interest and then jump in headlong. As gave me more time to decide how Adèle would do/dress in more modern times -sheepish-

I'd like to join into whatever story you might start. You seem smart and careful. Those are good attributes in RP. And yes ... I am Valis and I write Darwick. (Among quite a few others.)

When you are ready, just let me know.

Excellent! I'll go ahead a start the thread, it may take me about a day as tomorrow is my last day here before I drive home for Thanksgiving weekend. If I don't finish within the next day, I'll wrap it up back home.

Jump in with whoever you'd like. Any preference in setting or anything alone those lines?

Hmm. Good question. I suppose I would fancy a story where there is a meeting between two characters who have much in common, and yet there are secrets between them that neither is ready to reveal. A sort of evolutionary tale where there are likenesses that draw them together, yet differences that make both of them wary. A chance to explore prejudices that seem to be distant in solution, yet are drawn together by some common blood. I like that sort of thing. If that is not to your liking, I would be also open to newer ideas. But thank you for asking. I appreciate that.

Ah, that's quite alright, there's two of us in it so we both should be happy/comfortable. Sounds pretty swell to me! I've started it already; it'll be posted in In The Shadow of the Soul under the title "Fleurs du Mal" (one of my favourite series of french poems -dork-).

I'm all fluttery with excitement, I like the way you think!

Oh, very cool. "Evil Flowers" if I understand the translation (being Canadian and all.) I look forward to it.

Um. I guess you know now that Odd Greg, Darwick, and Valis are the same. *grins* Just saying.

Haha, yes I've picked up on that minute detail. I was getting a little confused but I figured it out.

Your translation is accurate, bravo! Where in canada are you from?

Out west, where many do not even bother to understand the two languages that make the unity of our nation. British Columbia, to be precise.

Oh wonderful! I've got the majority of my family out there, in and around the Vancouver/Abottsford area. They gave Quebec the ole heave ho years ago. They've all held onto a bit of French but considering you guys don't get many chances to use it out your way, I'd say they a little shabby in the conversation department.

Wow. I lived in Abottsford for several years, and then recently moved back to Vancouver - East Side. I'm thinking of moving to Delta. Abottsford has changed a lot. But then so has Vancouver. Small world! Now let's get to the RP!

Yessir, into the RP we go! I may have to continue my opening post in the afternoon tomorrow...My eyes are tired from the glare of the screen.

I'll carry on until I feel that I am rambling then come back to it tomorrow.

Have a good evening, or what's left of it.
