Oh hai. « on: 12/21/2008 22:11:04 »

Hello, I'm Melody, I just turned 18 in like, October. I am a girl, but I do roleplay as a guy because... well, I want to. I've been roleplaying since I was 12ish with whoever I could find. However, I've been finding as of recent I've been getting too concise and writing 1-3 liners at most and I feel bad because the person I roleplay with on a regular basis always has these long, poetic posts.

Uh, my character, Dezmodontidite (or Dezmo), I've been working on for lord knows how long. He was first thought-up when I was 6ish after I had a dream about, what I guess was essentially, Dezmo. He is, in essence, a more confident, exaggerated version of myself (but with a penis).

He's my baby, please be sweet to him.

...

I am a baby, please be sweet to me if I screw up hardcore somewhere.

Also questions;

1. What size does it have to be? Or is it automatically resized?
2. Is it required that I post a thing about my character in that character biography forum? Or is that just an optional thing? (I'll post a thing anyway, I'm just curious)
3. So whats the deal with the RP joining etiquette? Obviously there are going to be RSVP and invite only roleplays, but for the others do people often just post and play or is it cool to PM the original poster and ask whats going on and if they need anymore people or how their character could be inclusive to the story.
4. I like to include a lot of sacrilege in my roleplays and I didn't see anything pertaining to that in the rules section. Whats the etiquette with that? Can I go all out or should I maybe not?
5. On the topic of power-playing, what is the definition here? I have been to a lot of sites where there have been things I would have considered power-playing, but was apparently allowed.

Thanks, I really look forward to writing some fun and interesting stories with you guys.

Hello, Melody.

Actually, Ember is one of our more smirking residents. We love him/her/it and feel that having him/her/it proves we are liberals. (Hi, Ember! We love you!)

To answer a few of your questions:

1) Your avatar can be no larger than 200 pixels by 300 pixels. Really, you don’t want us to resize it for you. But if you need help, please contact me. I do avatars.

2) It is not required that you post a thing about your character, but we’d really like it if you would. It’s courteous. Even though many of us write quite in-courteous characters, we mostly like courteous people.

3) As for RP joining - just read the main post and follow the rules. If the title includes “RSVP”, then you are not allowed to enter unless you are invited. Send  a PM to the originator of the story for an invitation.

4) I’m not sure of your definition of “sacrilege.” There are precious few people here who aren’t already going to hell in a hand basket, so we might need to do some research on that. I’ll personally let you know if you cross the line.

5) Power-playing is not allowed. Moderators and Admins may do so for a) its humor value or b) to moderate someone. Otherwise, doing so will generally result in your thread going dead, dead, dead. Or banning. Depends on the mood of our members. Or the admins’ mood.

Welcome to Andromorphia! She’s a sturdy boat with a shaky crew, but we love good writing and storytelling - so we are assured that our personal corner in hell will be air-conditioned. Not like those other impostor sites. *big toothy smile*

No pictures, please. (Send them to horsegoestohell@specialplaceforpeoplelikehorse.hades - confidentiality assured.)

Note: I am seldom serious except when I state and enforce the rules. It's a personal failing. *smile*

Ember: "Hey, it's enlightening being a hermaphrodite."

The term "he/she/it" is in reference to Ember's many characters on this site and not to the person behind those characters. I thought I'd just be Capt. Obvious here and point that out.

Welcome, Melody, to the our 3-ring asylum - Andromorphia!
